These are the Confederate pension applications that I have personally transcribed from records received from either the Louisiana State Archives or the Texas State Archives.  If you desire originals, you should access their website to get more information.  These are solely Confederate pension applications at this time, as I have not yet addressed the Union side of the Civil War.

The pension applications are divided into three categories at this time, and these were birthed out of my research focus at this time.

Soldiers who served at Sabine Pass
These pension applications are from Confederate soldiers (and widows of said soldiers) who were assigned to Sabine Pass at the border between Texas and Louisiana on the Gulf Coast.  The majority of these soldiers and sailors were from Southeastern Texas.  As I do more research, I will include the units, as well as the men who served.

The 26th Louisiana Infantry Regiment, Company A
This unit is the first Civil War unit that I became interested in because I discovered that my Great-Great Grandfather, Napoleon Melancon, was a soldier in this unit.  This sparked my interest in the Civil War and has led to my current addiction.

Other Units
The soldiers and widows who are in this category are from miscellaneous units that I have yet to concentrate on.  The above two sections were a result of me searching for genealogical data on my ancestors.  I am still doing research on others, and some of the research I do is just on people that aren't related to my research.  The information I get from this research is still valuable to someone, though, so I figure it ought to be posted for others to use.

I am currently in the process of transcribing a number of Confederate pension applications that I have requested from the above archives, and I will be adding them as I get them done.

Please fell free to use the information in these files, however, please do not post these to a website without the header information in each of the files.  I spent a lot of time working on these, and I would like the credit for transcribing them, but I do not want them to be limited in distribution
